All Around Pflugerville
Hey Pfolks, welcome to the week of March 24, 2026.
I’m sorry this one is going out so late!
This week is shaping up to be a fun one. We should have good weather without too much heat, lots of things to do with the family, for date night, or on your own, and even some largescale retail therapy.
Also this week:
Local Spotlight: Two Truths & A Lie (Ceramics style)
Dog Catcher Truck or Rolex? (Auction steals)
Live music & job fair (Friday highlights)
Finally figure out what all the construction is for
I refuse to talk about our Stage 3 water restrictions this week. (I mean, I’ll do it a little bit…But I won’t enjoy it.)
THIS WEEK’S QUOTE
When people walk in the door, you never know how they’ll impact your life or you’ll impact theirs

Local Roundup

One of the items in the US Marshals Auction
⌚️Need a Truck or a Rolex?
Did you know there’s an auction house right in Pflugerville on Pfennig (across from the Walmart)?
They have contracts with a variety of government agencies including the US Marshals Service. You can find government vehicles like this City of Austin Animal Control Vehicle, or jewelry including Rolexes, gold, diamonds, and more.
All bidding is online, but you can preview some of the items in person (such as vehicles) if you make an appointment.
Current auctions include:
City of Austin Fleet Mobility Services Online Auction (aka Gov Car Auction) ends this Friday, March 27th
US Marshals Service Fine Jewelry and Watch Auction ending on April 7th
Your usual 1,000 × 25,000 Iraqi Dinar notes auction (ends April 9th)
👷 All The Development Projects in One Place
If you like maps, clicking, and city planning then you’ll love Pflugerville’s Development Activity Dashboard!
To be honest, there isn’t a ton of specific detail about the projects there. But if you’re like me, when you read various development plans you see names like “Heatherwilde Commons” or “The Pfarm” and you don’t always know what they’re referring to.
This interactive guide can show you exactly what area that is, and you can click into the tabs (top right) for Active Construction, Capital Improvement Projects, and more. It’s worth bookmarking.
🍗 Now open: Tumble 22 (Texas Chicken Joint)
Tumble 22 has come to Pflugerville and they’re bringing the heat. This Austin-based “Texas Chicken Joint” serves delicious chicken sandwiches, bone-in chicken, and tenders, plus classic Southern sides and house-made pies.
They opened Jan 26th and are situated by the Costco near Kelley Lane.

Local Business Spotlight: Ceramics N More
The “N More” is real
On Monday I stopped into Ceramics N More—Pflugerville’s local pottery, glass craft, and ceramics studio—and had an excellent conversation with the joyful and quotable, Willie.
Willie, named after her father (she suspects he wanted a boy), has worked there since 2006 and had several careers before that, including 10 years at Dell and 20 years in the Air Force.
All of this gives her a broad perspective on creating ceramics, people, and life in general.
Among other things, she explained the thought that goes into working with clay and how she loves helping people bring their ideas to fruition and solve complicated problems.
No design? The clay could dry before you create anything.
No structure? It might collapse on itself.
No cavity? It’ll take forever to air dry or explode in the kiln.
Then, suddenly interrupting our pleasant conversation, I hit her with my gotcha question:*
What is your favorite project that you’ve helped someone with?
I stared her down. She stared back undaunted.
“I don’t think I can trust you…” she said.
“You’re a good judge of character,” I scoffed (rudely).
“But I’m going to tell you anyway.”
“There’s a catch isn’t there?” My spidey-sense was tingling.
“I’ll tell you three projects I’ve helped people with…but one of them is a lie!”
“Gasp!” I said, “you wouldn’t dare!”
And yet she did.
Here are the projects she told me about—do you know which one isn’t real? (click to find out)
1) A medical student in residency to become a heart surgeon came in to make a fully accurate model of the human heart
2) One woman came in and made a life-size replica of her face to play a prank on her husband
3) A couple came in to create a highly specific vase, with the sole intent of shattering it
*Okay, none of it happened that way.
But seriously
Check out Ceramics N More at 101 West Pecan, Ste B. They have open studio hours, activities and events like clay building, fused glass, pottery painting, and of course, a bunch of different classes including a 6 Week Basic Wheel Throwing class starting Wednesday, March 25th (and a 4 Week version starting Tue, March 31st).
They’re good people and it’s a beautiful shop. Stop in and tell them All Around Pflugerville sent you!
