All Around Pflugerville

Hey Pfloks, welcome to the week of March 3, 2026.

We’ve officially hit that “is this spring or still late winter?” stretch. Don’t let the nice weather today deceive you though.

We’re in for a few days of thunderstorms and rain—unless it all manages to avoid us completely (wouldn’t be the first time).

Also this week:

  • Drought restrictions

  • Casino night for a cause

  • And plenty of excuses to get out of the house (and still stay sheltered from all the thunderstorms coming our way)

THIS WEEK’S QUOTE

I put my heart and my soul into my work, and have lost my mind in the process.

Attributed to Vincent Van Gogh (no real evidence of that)

Some of the best quotes were never said by their author, but express them nonetheless

Local Business Spotlight: Buddha Burger – Pflugerville

Buddha Burger on Pflugerville Parkway has quickly become a local favorite for big, juicy, made‑to‑order burgers that feel like a proper sit‑down meal, not fast food. They’re known for creative topping combos, crispy fries, and comfort‑food sides that hit the spot after a long day or kids’ activities.

The team prides themselves on friendly service and generous portions, making it an easy choice for a casual weeknight dinner, a laid‑back date, or a weekend cheat meal.

OUR CITY
Historical Pfacts: Lake Pflugerville’s Origin Story

Lake Pflugerville wasn't always a weekend walking trail and fishing spot—it was built as a practical water supply solution for a fast‑growing town.

  • Created in 2005, it serves as as Pflugerville's primary drinking water reservoir to serve the city's booming population.

  • Today it holds 180 acres of water with 3.5 miles of shoreline, and is now a beloved recreation hub alongside its original utility role.

  • The lake's trails, picnic areas, sculptures, and fishing spots draw locals weekly, turning a water infrastructure project into one of Pflugerville's top community assets.

Next time you're walking the Lake Pflugerville trail, rent a kayak, or just enjoy the breeze lounging at the stretch of sand, you're enjoying a piece of city planning that started as a necessity and became a neighborhood favorite.

Those are the highlights of life in Pflugerville this week!

See you on Tuesday with more local news, events, history, and businesses worth supporting.
